A miniature globe built from inlaid semiprecious stone. Lapis for the oceans, with continents cut in a kaleidoscope of stone and shell, including mother of pearl. Each landmass a different material, fitted flush to the sphere. Meridians and parallels are laid in a fine gold-toned grid.

The whole thing turns freely on a solid brass base, which has warmed into a soft patina.

3 inches tall, 3.5 inches across. Sits on a desk or a stack of books.
