A decorative plate carved in the cinnabar lacquer tradition — three dragons in vermilion red, coiling through a black ground worked in fine concentric spirals that read as churning cloud and wave.

The dragons chase a flaming pearl at the center, the classic motif of power and pursuit. Scaled, whiskered, each one carved in deep relief so the red stands well proud of the black. The spiral ground is the tell of hand work.

7.5 inches in diameter. Displays on a stand or hung on a wall.
