Tiger Sculpture | Soapstone | Hand-Made & Sourced in New Delhi, India

A single block of soapstone, carved through. The tiger's body is worked in openwork jali latticework, and inside the hollow belly sits a second tiger — carved in place, never inserted, never removable. The whole thing is one continuous piece of stone.

Snarling head, articulated paws, tail curled along the flank. The lattice is fine enough that light passes straight through the body.

9 inches wide, 5 tall, 2 deep. A desk object that rewards being studied closely.
