A compact pair of opera glasses in black lacquer over brass, on a twisted gold and black lanyard.

The brass has warmed into a soft patina at the barrel rims and the focus knob, where hands went most often. The lacquer is unbroken. Optics are clear and the center focus turns smoothly.

Sourced in Austin, Texas, on opening night of the Austin Ballet's Nutcracker.
